How this log is made
Once a day the site downloads the OpenRouter catalogue and compares it with the previous download, model by model. Whenever the input or the output price differs by more than 0.05%, the old and the new values are recorded here with the date of the collection that noticed it. Models that were not in the previous collection are recorded as added, and models that vanished as removed. Batch variants are tracked as their own lines.
What a change can mean
A lower price is not always a price cut by the model’s maker. OpenRouter serves many models through several hosts, and the listed price can move when the host behind a model changes. To know whether the direct price moved, open the model in the price table and compare with the provider list price.
Why keep a history
A budget built on today’s price is a guess about tomorrow’s. Seeing how often, and in which direction, a model’s price has moved tells you how much margin to leave, and new entries are often the first sign that a cheaper generation has arrived. The same entries are available as an RSS feed and as JSON, so you can alert on the models you depend on.
Questions and answers
How are price changes detected?
Each collection is compared with the previous one, model by model. A change is recorded when the input or the output price differs by more than 0.05%, when a model appears for the first time, or when it stops being listed.
How far back does the history go?
It starts on 2 October 2026, the oldest collection this site kept, and grows with every daily collection. Changes that happened before that date are not shown.
Does a change here mean the provider changed its price?
Not necessarily. The log follows the price on OpenRouter, which also moves when OpenRouter switches the host behind a model. Check the provider list price on the model’s page to see whether the direct price moved too.
Is there a feed?
Yes, an RSS feed at /changes.xml carries the same entries, and the raw log is available as JSON at /data/changes.json.
